The challenge
Digital River, a disruptor in the e-commerce industry for over a quarter of a century, has consistently adapted to the ever-changing ecommerce landscape, enabling them to maintain their position as market leaders.
With the explosion of ecommerce showing no signs of slowing down, Digital River decided to focus on what they are best at, checkout and payment processing. Through their global seller service solution, retailers big and small can leverage Digital River for accelerated risk-free global commerce expansion.
With this focus, Digital River knew that to be successful they needed to partner with strategic e-commerce platform partners like SAP CC and build a best-of-breed connector for their Merchant of Record solution for Payments, Fraud, Tax and Compliance.
The team at Digital River chose Fuse as the strategic partner of choice to drive the complete end-to-end technical development and implementation of the new integration.
The approach
The project began with a comprehensive discovery and evaluation phase, allowing the team at Fuse to gain a deep understanding of Digital River’s goals and strategies, and then develop a technical roadmap with key milestones, priorities, and budget estimates.
With the integration being brand new, the team were able to utilise their extensive knowledge and expertise of the digital landscape to create a blueprint of the integration that would maximise opportunities.
Working closely with the Digital River team, Fuse’s experts completed an end-to-end technical implementation of the integrations, providing their signature efficiency and know-how from concept to certification and launch.
Leveraging Fuse’s experience with SAP Commerce Cloud, Digital River’s Global Seller Services solution now offers a seamless, aggregated, and integrated global payment solution that is secure, offers fraud mitigation, and includes local currencies and payment options such as digital wallets and Buy Now Pay Later.
What have Digital River delivered as a result of this work?
- The Digital River app for SAP Commerce Cloud provides a convenient turn-key solution that seamlessly integrates with merchants’ existing back ends. This eliminates common barriers to adoption, such as the need for extensive time, technical expertise, and budget required to implement new and complex functionality into their tech stack. Through the integration, merchants can simplify their operations and minimise risk at pace, whilst growing their international reach.
- Merchants can seamlessly integrate Digital Rivers solution built on SAP Commerce with other prebuilt assets of SAP CX suite, maintaining consistency across the implementation landscape.
- Merchants can easily interface natively not only with other SAP CX assets but also with SAP ERP for back-office functions.
- The app enables local payment methods, calculates taxes: domestic and cross border, display the appropriate currencies and terms of sale all within an integrated SAP Commerce shopper experience.
